Tags/Keywords : The word ‘Heritage’, as we all know and understand it, has different forms and holds a diverse value for each of us. But one thing that everyone agrees on is that heritage is something we have inherited from the past, which we cherish and appreciate in the present. The difference lies in the opinion as to what and how much needs to be passed on to future generations.

The historic environment and cultural heritage remain one of most precious and valuable assets for the reasons, it not only defines any nation, contributes to its economy, promote cultural identity but also creates a sense of place for the humanity and communities besides helping in learning more about history and heritage of the place. The places we live, work and visit, tell us how our ancestors have shaped our society and landscape over a period of time. These journeys connect us with our roots. Heritage encompasses  a broad and overarching term involving, ‘something that is considered worthy of being valued, preserved, catalogued, exhibited, restored, admired. At its core, the concept of ‘heritage’ is taken to mean the inheritance of something from the past, in the case of cultural heritage it is culture.  Heritage invariably tends to be associated with positive evaluations of the past of the communities, place and cities besides having positive and focused public connotations.
